Today has been bittersweet. My little man turned one. I feel this overwhelming sense of happiness and pride at how clever and in tune with the world he is, however at the same time feel this sadness swallowing me whole as I realise my baby isn’t a baby anymore. Continue reading
Alex and I don’t really celebrate Valentines Day. However this year, instead of being hermits and staying at home, we went for a family day out. We went to Belton House, a big stately home run by the National Trust, about half an hour away from where we live. It is such a beautiful place, with so much to do, a perfect day out for the family!
This day can be a milestone in the lives of most parents. The day you go to get the first pair of shoes, and for me that was today. Another bittersweet reminder that my baby is growing up far too quick . Continue reading

My name is Emily, but some call me Bem, but more on that another time. I’m 21 from a tiny little village in the East of England. I live with my amazing little family, in my amazing little corner of the world – my son Isaac, and my boyfriend(!?!?!? we seem to lack a more mature term for our relationship) Alex.
On the 23rd February 2015 I became a Mum to the most exceptional little boy, after a VERY big suprise pregnancy.
